The Executive Chairman of Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia state, Hon. Chibunna Akara yesterday , formally received Hon. Kenneth Okere into the Labour Party . Hon. Okere was a prominent PDP chieftain and former two-term Commissioner in the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission( ABSIEC)
In a Press statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of Ukwa East Local Government Area , Comrade Justice Enyinnaya Nwaubani, Hon. Kenneth Okere iexpressed his gratitude for the warm reception, stating that his decision to join the party was driven by his desire to contribute to the re-election of Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, in 2027.
Hon. Okere pledged his loyalty and commitment to the party, promising to work tirelessly to strengthen its presence in Ikwuorie ward and beyond. He cited his confidence in the vision of Dr. Alex Chioma Otti and Hon. Chibunna Akara as key factors in his decision to join the Labour Party.
In response, Hon. Chibunna Akara welcomed Hon. Kenneth Okere, describing him as a valuable asset to the party. He emphasized that the Labour Party values all its members, regardless of their background or tenure, and he went further to assure Hon. Kenneth Okere of a warm and inclusive environment by the party Leadership.
Hon. Akara urged party leaders to continue recruiting like-minded individuals to bolster support for Governor Otti in the lead-up to 2027. He noted that Hon. Okere’s experience and expertise would be invaluable to the party’s growth and success.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Chief Hon. Elvis Wabara, State Financial Secretary of the Labour Party, Local Government Party Chairman, Local Government Supervisors and other Government officials.
