Rector Warns Against Cult Activities, Rape, Exam Malpractice, Among Students

The Rector, Blessed Martins International Institute Of Science and Technology, BMIIST, Ohatekwe Amagu, Ikwo, Ebonyi State, Dr. Emma Okoro yesterday warned the 96 newly admitted students of the institution against all forms of cult related activities, indecent dressing, examination malpractice among others.

Dr. Okoro gave the warning during the 7th matriculation ceremony of the institution assured that the management of BMIIST goes extra miles to protect it’s students against any form of intimidation, harassment and exploitation.

He maintained that the institution at all time insist on hardwork. We enforce discipline, we enthrone the highest standard morality, we abhor all forms of antisocial behavior and we have zero tolerance to examination Malpractice, cultisim and indecent dressings.

The Rector expressed concern over the inability of the school to fill it’s quota of students allotment by the various Professional Regulatory Boards and Councils. Our student quota for Environmental Health Technology programme is 100 students per stream but we have less than ten students in the department.

He called on parents to send there children to the institution adding that impartation of knowledge and skills is the core business.

In his address, the Visitor to the school, Hon Chinedu Ogah maintained that the reason behind the establishment of the school is to ensure that Nigeria graduating students becomes self-reliance and called for entry into the school.

Comrade Ogah who is the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Reformatory Institutions advice Nigeria students and youths to study courses that would make them self reliance adding that white color job is gradually fading away in the country.

He commended the Ohatekwe Amagu community for the cordial relationship that has existed between them and the school adding that since the inception of the institution, the has not been any disagreement between the school and the community.

The Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon Francis Nwifuru who was Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Grace Umezurike urged Ebonyi people to make good use of the institution adding that he is encouraged by the standard of the institution.

Governor Nwifuru assured that the State Government will continue to assist the institution to attain greater heights and urged the matriculating students to shun any form of distraction and focus on their studies to make their families proud while in school. Ends.
