Sir Azuka Okwuosa, the best qualified and the most popular Anambra South Senatorial bye-election Candidate, a respecter of kings as divinely appointed or chosen leaders with unique spiritual authority holding special connections to the Divine and can intercede on our behalf with God, today was at the palace of Obi Nwosu Ezeodumegwu ( Onu0ra),
Obi Muo Otolo Nnewi, the traditional Head of Otolo Nnewi for consultation, to officially inform the throne of his Senatorial aspiration and to obtain royal blessings and prayers for victory at the polls.

Welcoming Okwuosa and his entourage, the palace’s spokesman stated that he does not need introduction in their domain recalling that he vied for the Senate with Ikechukwu Obiora in 2007, won but lost in the court. He went ahead and sought for total support for Sir Azuka Okwuosa for he is able and capable of replacing their son and brother, Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah in the Senate.

Thereafter , Chinyelugo stated that he is no stranger at the palace, for exactly 31 years ago on the 28th of May, 2004 he was in the palace to pay courtesy visit after assuming office as the Chairman of old Nnewi where he received the Royal blessings from EZEODUMEGWU. Going further, he stated that whatever Nnewi is today cannot be complete without the royal family.
He recalled how Igwe Orizu road was awarded by him as the Commissioner for works to a foreign company. He later requested for royal blessings and prayers for his Senatorial aspiration journey.

The Obi’s son, His Royal Highness, Chief Ude Nwosu went down memory lane recalling how the father always mentioned Azuka Okwuosa’s name for good. That since the father gave him the royal blessings 31 years ago, he is using the ofo of his father in conjunction with his brothers to pray for Chinyelugo’s/APC’s victory on the 16th of August, 2025.

Rising from the Obi’s palace, Okwuosa and the campaign squad moved to join Nnewi Political Forum (NPF) for a purposeful interactive.

It was a joyful welcome awaiting Sir Okwuosa at the Nnewi Political Forum gathering.
Hon. Melie Onyejepu welcoming the incoming Senator to Nnewi Progressive Forum constituting the 4 quaters of Nnewi, of people who had vied for different political offices, men of integrity and of means, the truth behind the force of Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah whose death dealt them a heavy blow; he assured him that the members are in the 51 admistrative wards of Nnewi and their loyalty when given is as solid as the rock of Gibraltar.

Rising to an outstanding cheer and ovation of the large crowd, Hon. J.C Okeke , the Anambra APC Organizing Secretary recalled how the Anambra State APC pleaded with the late Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah to decamp to APC and vie for the Governorship and how his devastating demise necessitated Ikukuoma being the APC Governorship Candidate. He went further to introduce Okwuosa as a good party man who listens to the party and once again has come up for the Senate contest. He pleaded with the NPF to give him maximum support and vote for he is the only one amongst the Senatorial contenders who will do well and remember Ndị Nnewi for quality human and infrastructural development.

Sir Okwuosa saluted the timbers and Calibers of the NPF starting with Hon. Melie Onyejepu, recalling that the demised Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s great Giant strides are indelible and he made huge differences in any party he was in.
He went on to state that it was at his demise that he came up with his gubernatorial ambition but when the party decided that it’s better to go for the Senate because it’s the APC’s slot and it should not be left to others for the demised Senator’s legacy must be upheld, he accepted and went for the Senate instead; though Ifeanyi Ubah is dead, he lives on, all his unfinished business in Nnewi will be addressed when he becomes the Senator for he knows Nnewi’s challenges, stating that Nnewi is one of the LGs who do not get in reward what they put in. Okwuosa stated that insecurities is one of dire challenges faced in Nnewi but he is coming to fix it with the necessary legislative bills and agenda.

Chinyelugo assured the NPF that legislative agenda that will provide basic amenities that will create enabling environment, that will give the people an edge to engage in profitable businesses, gainful employments and safety of lives and property will be sponsored.

The NPF having been assured that Okwuosa has the ability, capacity and capability of replacing Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah, gave their words that they will come out en masse and vote for the APC to ensure APGA does get close to the position with their negativity.

Lastly, on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the NPF, Sir Azuka Okwuosa was conferred with the position of the Grand Patron of the group by the President.

Thereafter, members of the Melie Onyejepu Foundation also assured of going to work to ensure that the APC wins the Senatorial by-election in Nnewi in a landslide victory.

The Rivers State Police Command has declared that the tragic death of a 26-year-old lady, Peace Moses, an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, was not reported in any of its divisions or units across the state.

Peace was knocked down last Monday evening by a convoy of about 15 fast-moving vehicles around Omega Junction along Ada-George Road in Port Harcourt.

She was returning from an evening service at her church, Love Channel Christian Centre, also located along Ada-George Road, when the tragic incident occurred.

Last Thursday, a candlelight procession was organised in her honour by her friends and neighbours.

Speaking with our correspondent  in Port Harcourt yesterday, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Grace Iringe-Koko, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), wondered why neighbours could not report the incident to the Police.

Iringe-Koko stated that even the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the Rumuepirikom Police Division was unaware of the tragic incident.

“Probably they didn’t report any such incident to the Police Station because the DPO in charge of that area is asking me where and when the incident occurred.

See, if they don’t report cases to the Police, how would the Police know? We are not magicians. I just spoke with the DPO, and she said she is not aware of anything like that.

“Somebody needs to report or anyhow, information needs to get through so that we too will get it,” she said.

But reacting to the claim by the Police, a human rights lawyer, Courage Nsirimovu, said that, with or without a report on the tragic incident, the Police are duty-bound to investigate the matter.

Nsirimovu said: “The duty of the Nigerian police is to secure lives and properties, and where a life has been lost in such grievous circumstances, the police have a duty to investigate the matter on the basis of their mandate and the public need to prevent such a menace to human life.

“The Police have a duty to investigate the matter, with or without a petition.”
