HOPEHIGH BRITISH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS HOLDS FINAL ENTRANCE EXAMINATION AS TWO BEST GRADUATING STUDENTS BAG UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

The last batch of entrance examination into HopeHigh British International Schools for the 2024/2025 academic session will hold on August 24, 2024 as two best graduating students of the institution bag university scholarship.

ln a statement made available to newsmen yesterday , the time for the examination is put for 11am at the school’s premises located along No 6 Onwe road, Abakaliki, Ebonyi state adding that prospective candidates for the examination are expected to be seated at 10:30 am.

Meanwhile, two best graduating students of the institution at the secondary school cadre for the last 2023/ 2024 academic session, Miss Eze Anita Chisom and Onor Ucheoma Chukwu were awarded university scholarship for their outstanding performances.

Miss Eze Anita Chisom won the best graduating students in sciences while Miss Onor Ucheoma Chukwu took the lead in the Arts subjects.

The awards were presented to the duo by the first civilian Governor of Ebonyi State, Dr. Sam Ominyi Egwu who expressed deep gratitude to the management of the institution and congratulated the beneficiaries for their outstanding academic performances.

The event took place during the 2023/2024 graduating ceremony of the school which saw dignitaries and stakeholders from the education in attendance.

ln a remark, the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Humphrey Nwaobasi described the institution as a centre of excellence and urged the management of the institution to sustain the academic achievements for which the institution is known for.

Prof Nwaobasi expressed delight over the appreciable level of discipline and decorum found in the school pointing out that it was the basis for teaching and learning in any given society.

Also speaking at the occasion, the chairman of the school Board,Prof. lke Elechi who spoke on behalf of the management of the institution noted that the institution has maintained quantifiable and moral excellence for the past twenty years of it’s existence stressing that the institution was founded on the principles of diligence, hardwork and zero tolerance to academic and moral excellence.

He disclosed that the institution has been accredited by the Cambridge university schools which has made it a full-fledged British institution adding that international examination for foreign universities can now be conducted in the school.

Prof Elechi called on parents to avail themselves of this rare opportunity to offer their children and wards the best education.

He thanked the first civilian Governor of Ebonyi State, Dr. Sam Ominyi Egwu for awarding university scholarship to the best two graduating students

Highlights of the event were debates, news presentations and cultural performances by the students of the institution as well as public presentation of Anthology authored by students of the school who are members of school’s Literary Society.

ln his appreciation, father of one of the two beneficiaries of the university scholarship, Rev Dr. Torty Onor who spoke on behalf of the duo thanked the first civilian Governor of Ebonyi State, Dr. Sam Ominyi Egwu for his magnanimity and expressed gratitude to the management of the institution for her academic excellence.

He urged other parents to bring their children and wards to the school for effective learning.
