Girl , 14 Dies ln A Hotel Room
The police in Bayelsa State have said that a 14-year-old girl, identified as Shallon Ebitare, died in a hotel room in Yenagoa, the state capital, where she had lodged with her 17-year-old lover.
The report said the teenagers had been lovers for some months before the unfortunate incident
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday after the girl and her boyfriend, identified as Lucky Okubo, checked into the hotel room. The girl was said to have slumped in a bathroom of the hotel.
She was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa, where she was later confirmed dead.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested the boyfriend as the prime suspect for murder. He in the custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yenagoa, while investigation continues to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Bayelsa State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Musa Muhammed, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect claimed that the deceased had gone to the bathroom to have her bath but slipped and fell and sustained injuries that resulted in her death.
