Mrs. Nwifuru, Ebonyi CP Advice Women On Security Consciousness

The Wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs. Mary-Maudline Nwifuru and the State Commissioner of Police, CP Augustina Ogbodo yesterday during a One Day Training organized for Women political office holders, wives of State Executive Council members and others with a call for them to be security conscious.

The training organized by the Ebonyi State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in collaboration with the office of the Wife of the Governor with the theme, “Count Her In, Invest in Women, Accelerate her Progress”, held at the Remerotona Hotel Abakaliki.

Mrs. Nwifuru who frowned at the constant release of arrested suspects from police custody called on the security personnel to ensure that those arrested for criminal related activities are meant to face the full wrath of the law to serve as lesson to others.

The training is part of activities marking the 2024 international women’s day celebration.

Mrs. Nwifuru, noted that the training will help to develop the women to recognize their potentials and tackle barriers.

“This workshop is dedicated to our training and development. As we gather here today,we recognize the immense potential that lies within each woman.

“we also acknowledge the barriers and challenges we often face in skills development and in discharging our respective duties. That is why this workshop is so crucial”.

She said that Empowering women through training is not merely a matter of gender equality.

“It is an investment in the future. It is no news that when we educate and train women, we uplift our societies. By this workshop, we are unlocking vast potentials and talent that can contribute to economic growth and societal development.

“It will enhance our skills and knowledge and enable us to distinguish ourselves in our various leadership roles”

“Research consistently shows that societies where women are educated and empowered tend to be more stable, prosperous, and resilient. Ebonyi State today ticks all the above boxes in a positive way, because our Government has availed us the opportunity to demonstrate our strength”.

The State Commissioner of Police, Urged the women to install CCTV cameras at their different homes and offices to monitor the activities around their homes and offices.
