NLC Replies Tinubu Over His Statement That They Should Wait Till 2027 To Participate In The Elections

The president of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero has replied president Bola Ahmed Tinubu after he told them to wait till 2027 to participate in the general elections.
According to our correspondent while president Bola Ahmed was speaking in Lagos, he told the NLC to wait till 2027 to participate in election or rather maintain peace.
He was quoted as saying;
“To call for strike within nine months of an administration is unacceptable. If you want to participate in the electoral process, wait until 2027. If not, maintain peace, you are not the only voice of Nigerians”.
However, the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC has now reacted to the statement that was made by the president. In a post that was shared on the official X handle of NLC on Friday, it was stated that the President seems not to be bothered about the profound hardships endured by millions of Nigerians. NLC claimed that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu is more focused on the 2027 elections than the hardship that Nigerians are facing on daily basis.
NLC wrote on its official page;
“He is focused on partisan issues and the distant 2027 election cycle, rather than the urgent needs of the populace, further underscores a disconnect from the realities faced by Nigerians on a daily basis”.
