Implementation Of Bishop Okoro’s Committee Report Will Resolve Ezza-Effuim Communal Crisis-Ike Cletus

The Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on Internal Security, Ivo Local Government Area, Hon Ike Cletus yesterday said that the Implementation of the Committee headed by the Catholic Bishop Emeritus, Bishop Micheal Okoro on Ezza-Effuim Communal crisis will bring a lasting solution to the crisis.
Hon Ike in an interview with journalists maintained that the report when implemented, will help in resolving the Ezza-Effium communal crisis – including similar Committees set up by the governor for Ishinkwo – Abaomege crisis, among others.
He noted that the State Governor is working assiduously towards ending all the communal crisis in the State adding that the Governor has posted an unprecedented superlative performance in the last 7 months of his administration.
“The array of communal crises and internal disputes, Governor Nwifuru met on ground has drastically reduced to the barest minimum. The Governor prioritized the security and the welfare of the citizens as a precursor for internal peace and development of the state.

“This is because whenever the people are happy and contented, they will not engage in any crime capable of causing security breaches.
He commended the State Governor for the deliberate strategy of using dialogue and welfare to tackle insecurity in the state.
“Governor Nwifuru’s appointment of Security Aides in all the 13 council areas and the capital city has also helped in curbing crime and criminalities in the State. It is more commendable that the mandate given to them to proactively and directly report impending security breaches in their respective areas to him in order to promptly nip them in the bud before they escalate into major crisis.
“Beyond the appointment of many Security Aides, Governor Nwifuru doesn’t pay lip service to security matters. He has masterfully deployed other strategies that worked effectively in the restoration of peace in the entire state.
He also commended the State Governor for the commencement of the 140 housing units in Izzo and Ezilo autonomous communities in Ishielu local government area of the state who were displaced in the communal crisis.
“This kind gesture is geared towards resettlement of the displaced persons from the war torn Ezza and Ezilo communities and to restore permanent peace in the area. This step is far from mere rhetorics as the buildings are already nearing completion.
“The creation of access roads and other social amenities in the crises ridden communities are all aimed at giving the people a sense of belonging thereby reducing their combative tendencies.
“The Ezza-Effium Ring Road is almost completed while Government has equally given assurances of its readiness to rebuild the area upon the return of permanent peace.
