Controversial Afrobeats singer, Habeeb Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has rejected the outcome of his celebrity boxing match against content creator Carter Efe, alleging that the contest was rigged.

Portable lost the match by a unanimous decision during the “Chaos in the Ring 4” event held on Friday night at the Balmoral Hall in Lagos. All three judges scored the fight 27–30 in favour of Carter Efe, who used his height and reach to control the three-round fight.

In a live video shared on his Instagram page after the fight, Portable accused the organisers of bias. He claimed that his punches were not properly counted and that Carter Efe relied on strangling rather than professional boxing techniques.

“I was robbed. Carter Efe was not professional enough. They did ojoro for me. All of you are mad. Carter Efe was just holding my neck. I was punching him, too, but you people are not talking about that. They knew he is tall and has long hands but still put him in a boxing match with me.”the singer stated.

He also demanded ₦200 million in streaming revenue from the organisers, threatening to cause trouble if the payment is not made.

Despite losing his title as celebrity boxing champion, the singer said he was not bothered by losing the belt. He revealed that his wife, Bewaji, gave birth to a baby boy while the match was taking place, describing the new arrival as a greater achievement than any trophy.

“You can only buy a belt with money, but a child cannot be bought. My wife just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I value that more than a belt. You can buy the belt, but not my child,” Portable added.

Before this defeat, Portable had maintained a winning streak in the ring with previous victories over actor Charles Okocha and singer Speed Darlington.

A Nigerian content creator, Oyindamola, has become the talk of social media after revealing a massive ₦32 million payment from the social platform X (formerly Twitter).

The user, known as @dammiedammie35, shared the news on Saturday, sparking a wave of excitement among other creators looking to monetise their accounts. According to Oyindamola, his account had been restricted since last year, which usually prevents users from earning ad revenue.

Legendary Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie has denied rumours of his death for the umpteenth time, calling out the recurring hoax.

This latest claim follows a pattern of similar false stories dating back to 2012, with fabricated tales of him dying abroad or in accidents.

The 78-year-old actor, popularly known as Ebubedike, remains active and celebrated, with awards like Member of the Order of the Niger, MON, and AMVCA Industry Merit Award.

Pete Edochie expressed frustration, saying he’s been “killed” seven times, with hoaxes spreading false claims about his death. He’ll turn 79 on March 7, crediting his family’s longevity for his own vitality.

Debunking the death rumours in a telephone conversation with our correspondent , yesterday, Edochie said: “I’m alive and will die when my maker calls me home.

“I have been killed about seven times. There was a time they said I travelled abroad and died there. At other times, they said that the plane I boarded from Enugu to Ethiopia suddenly crashed and I didn’t survive.

“There was also a day my wife woke up to prepare for church service, when her telephone rang and the caller said he heard that I passed away this morning. Last year, somebody from Ghana alleged that Pete Edochie was already in the grave.

“However, there was something late Nnamdi Azikwe taught me when I interviewed him. He said that anybody who’s wishing you death will die before you.

“All those people that wished Zik death died before him. That was what I learnt from Zik. On March 7, I will be 79. My father died at 96, so we have longevity in my family.”
