Insecurity: Profile guests, guards, tenants in your houses, communities – Police tell Nigerians

The Nigeria Police Force, NPF, has warned Nigerians to profile visitors and ask them questions before giving them access into their residences.
The police also alerted that Nigerians should be vigilant and security conscious to the extent of questioning scavengers who loiter in the neighbourhoods.
Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi made this known, Sunday, in a statement on the official X account of the NPF.
According to the police, the guards and gatemen should be profiled, and Nigerians should get in touch with the security agents if they notice suspicion.
It said, “Good morning friends! We trust you had restful nights and believe the weekend is being kind. It is imperative to bring to our notices, the necessity of thoroughly profiling those we let into our communities and our houses.
“Ask questions before letting your apartment out to that tenant; question that scavenger in your community; profile your community guards and gatemen, and when responses don’t add up, kindly do not hesitate to let us in on such developments promptly.”
It further said citizens to eschew violence and embrace peace in their dealings.
“As you live through this day, the last Sunday of the first month of the year, whether you are worshipping, relaxing, hitting the gym or partying, please, be conscious enough to shun violence and embrace peace. Have a blessed Sunday and a rewarding week ahead!” it added.
The notice was given at the time insecurity was prevalent in the country as bandits kidnap innocent Nigerians for ransom and also kill.
