Valentine’s Day: Shina Peters urges love for God
As Valentine’s Day approaches, Nigerian Afro-Juju maestro, Shina Peters, has urged Nigerians to prioritise love for God.
In an interview with Newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos, Peters said that Valentine’s Day provided an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on God’s unconditional love and sacrifices.
He encouraged the citizens to use the day to renew commitment to their faith and strengthen relationship with God as an expression of love toward Him.
Peters, who was ordained a Bishop in the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God in 2021, said: “Love is not limited to romantic relationships but encompasses our connection with a higher power.
“By prioritising love for God, we can cultivate a deeper sense of purpose, gratitude and compassion.
“As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, let us take a moment to reflect on the transformative power of love and appreciate the divine guidance that shapes our lives.”
On how he would celebrate 2025 Valentine’s Day, Peters said that he would perform at two different occasions.
Recall that Valentine’s Day, also called St. Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is celebrated annually on Feb. 14.
It originated as a Christian feast day to honour a martyr named Valentine.
It has become a significant cultural, religious and commercial celebration of love in many regions of the world.
