Nwifuru’s Aides Turn Gov’s Lodge To Theatre Stage
All may not have been heard about the Ebonyi State Governor’s Lodge as Aides convert the
exalted premises into a theatre stage and event promotion studio.
In a video trending online, the Governor’s Lodge was used for an event promotion skit
tagged: Pink Exhibition which is slated to hold at the Ebonyi Mall.
Investigation by our reporter reveals that the Pink Exhibition is being organized by one of the Aide to the wife of the Governor.
Our reporter further gathered that those who featured in the advert skit, includes; the Chief
Press Secretary to the wife of the Governor, Commissioner for Women Affairs, a Security
personnel attached to wife of the Governor, the Newly appointed General Manager of
EBOTRANS, Member, Ebonyi State House of Assembly, the Team Lead of Governor’s wife
Pet Project (BERWO) , S.A to the Wife of the Governor on Media and a Personal
Photographer to the wife of the Governor among others.
Our reporter further gathered that the group featured in the event promotion, using the
Governor’s Lodge as venue to shoot the skit.
The video saw the government functionaries mentioned above displaying advertorial
communication and glamour , announcing the up coming event.
Analysts who spoke to our reporter on the trending video noted that it was a security threat to expose the Governor’s lodge in a such a reckless and indescent manner .
Dr. Oko Ibiam, a Public Affairs Commentator condemned the act noting that it was against
the code of conduct of public officers to engage in a private buisness let alone indulging in advertising private business and using government facility.
“ Let me tell you, it is a grave offence that requires serious sanctions. How can you
reconcile the fact that a government official engaged him or herself in such an act. It is a
desecration of the sacred nature of government official residence as elevated as that of a Governor’s lodge.
“ Tell, me, what have they turned that place to be? If they can do such thing in public, who
knows what they do secretly” . Dr. Oko queried.
Since the video went viral, members of the public have been pouring condemnation of the act.
Uche who posted on his Facebook timeline described the act as “crazy and barbaric.
