Aba Residents Hail Gov. Otti Over Ohanku Road Reconstruction

Many Residents Of Aba, the commercial nerve city of Abia State have applauded the Abia state Governor, Dr.Alex Otti for taking a giant step by commencing work at Ohanku road in Aba to solve the nightmare the road has caused them in the past many years.

Ohanku road had remained deplorable for years cutting off Ugwunagbo and Ukwaeast local Government Areas and thousands of residents who live or do business around the area have gone through hell as a result the hardship experienced on this road.

Since the past administration of late Sam Mbakwe opened up the raod, Governor Orji Kalu and Theodore Orji did some palliatives which never survived a season on the road until now that the administration of Dr. Alex Otti has finally entered the road to do a complete reconstruction work.

When Topnewsngr visited Ohanku road Friday , work was ongoing and the contractors have gotten up to Akoli and many residents expressed joy and cheered up the Governor, Dr. Otti for coming to wipe away the agony and sufferings been experienced by the people.

A resident of the area who has lived around Owerri- Aba area of Ohanku Road for over forty years Hon. Cyriacus Ohamaeze who has lived expressed happiness that the state Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti has come to rescue the people who have suffered untold hardship as a result of the deplorable state of the road for years.

He said ” people of this area have suffered as a result of of this raod, you need to see the population that comes out of this place every morning and you know that the road joined the famous Ngwa road market”

Hon. Ohamaeze said ” Governor Otti has warmed himself into the hearts of the people and by the time he completes this road, the people will reciprocate by ensuring that they continue to support his government even to second term”

He said ” this Ohanku road links three local Government Areas of Aba South, Ugwunagbo and Ukwaeast and stops at Ngwa road market and you can imagine what this place will look like by the time this road is completed”

He said ” you can see the entire residents praising and praying for the Governor because he knows the needs of the people of Aba and he is touching and winning more supporters with what he is doing on Aba roads”

A medical doctor, Dr. Obiche Ekeke Jnr.whose hospital is located along Ohanku road, said” Gov Alex Otti is God’s sent to come and address the infrastructural decay abandoned by the previous administrations and make life positively impactful to the people “

He said ” Gov. Alex Otti is truly the Nwa Aba who understands the suffering of the people and he is tackling them, We pray Almighty God continues to keep him to complete his first tenure and you can see what has happened just in one year of his administration, you can now wonder what will happen in the remaining years and it is not Aba only but all over the state”

Dr. Ekeke said ” Address the infrastructural decay in Aba like Gov. Otti is doing and you become our hero because we know what we’re suffering in Aba as a result of bad roads”

The joy and restoration of hope expressed by the duo was same among many other people our correspondent spoke with.

When Topnewsngr approached the contractor handling the project, Brass Construction, one of project supervisors who wouldn’t want to be mentioned revealed that they have a mandate to finish the project on a specific time.

He said ” We were briefed on the importance of this road to both the government and people of the state and we are delivering quality project that would stand the test of time and make both the government and people of the state happy “

” You can see what we’re doing already, people can now work and move along the road even after heavy down pour and we are taking it straight to our destination point.” he said.

The State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Okey Kalu who incidentally comes from Ohanku village in Ukwaeast Local Government Area expressed joy that the state Governor has remembered the people of Ukwaeast and Ukwawest local Government Areas in his developmental strides which is ongoing across the entire zones of the state.

He said ” it is a dream come through for our people that we now have a Governor who has started construction work at Ohanku and Obohia roads which conects Aba, Ugwunagbo, Ukwaeast and Ukwawest local Areas of the state. These two roads are parallel and will make transport short and comfortable for the people of ukwa land “

The commissioner said that the ” two roads when completed will open a new visa for our people who can then easily transport their businesses to Aba while Aba people can also come into Ukwa, Orie Ohanku and other markets in Ukwa land to transact their businesses. People can then live in Ukwa and go to Aba daily within ten to fifteen minutes drive to do business “

He said ” our people will forever be grateful to the Governor Otti for the reconstruction of these roads which have remained deplorable since the military days except few interventions from former Governor Orji Uzor Kalu which didn’t last for long”
