Senator Ogba, Others Joined APC For Stomach And Survival-Ebonyi PDP Alleges
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ebonyi State yesterday said that stomach needs and survival led the former Ebonyi Central Senator and governorship aspirant of the party in the 2023 general elections, Senator Obinna Ogba to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued in Abakaliki , the Acting State Chairman of the Party, Dr. Augustine Nwazunku, said that Sen. Ogba and his co-travelers became moles in the party the moment the former lawmaker lost his bid to fly the party’s flag in the Ebonyi State governorship election
He noted that Sen Ogba waited for the PDP to exhaust its legal actions at the presidential election tribunals because all he cared for was his personal benefits alone.
“Ogba is indulging in politics of willful cynicism devoid of moral considerations. To them, honesty of purpose is old fashioned. He is committed to a hedonistic political behaviour based on Pharonic self-love.
“His decision to leave PDP for APC is because of his failure to win the PDP governorship primaries in 2022. This is a concrete manifestation of wilful political anarchism, syndicalism, individualism and personality cultism,”.
“Ogba’s decision to once again make noise about crossing over from PDP to APC is to further negotiate for his mundane benefits, especially against the backdrop of the recent Supreme Court Judgement which favoured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC.
“Perhaps if the Supreme Court ruling had gone otherwise, Ogba and his fellow travellers would have gone nowhere,” the party said.
Dr. Nwazunku maintained that the PDP in the State have resolved to focus on rebuilding the party. “looking ahead, We in the PDP had decided to forge ahead without the distractions of these planted fifth-columnists.” Ends.
